This child model can be seen in many ad campaigns as well as on TV. It was time to update her portfolio so her agent has a strong selection of images showing her current look. Keeping your headshots or modeling portfolio updated is uber important if you want to book the job.  Your headshot should represent your current hair length and style and your current age. Casting wants to know how you look now, not last year. Most child actors and models update their headshots every year. Some of the most successful ones will update is every 6-9 months. Having a variety of looks is important. The above headshot would be used for TV & film roles, but could also be used for model castings. 

This child headshot would only be used for modeling. And although it's a beautiful and powerful shot, with TV roles, you don't want to hide the actors face.

When choosing a headshot photographer for your child's portfolio, choose someone who is very experienced at bringing out their features, whether it's beautiful eyes, radiant skin, or unique hair style. 

Typically child models will need some full body shots or 3/4 shots, so plan on this when booking your modeling photoshoot.
